Alec Baldwin was caught in a shocking video threatening to break a comedian’s neck after being heckled about the Rust shooting incident .
The viral clip circulating on social media captures the moment when Jason Scoop, dressed as Donald Trump , confronts the 66-year-old actor while he’s unloading luggage from his SUV in New York City. The impersonator, donning a navy blue suit and blond wig, yells, “Alec, it’s your favorite President!”
Continuing his Trump impression, he adds, “Look, Alec, I will offer you a total pardon ’cause I wanna be friends, right? I wanna be friends. I will give you a total pardon for murdering that woman if you kiss the ring.” He then flaunts a large ring, urging Alec to “kiss” it.
Alec initially ignores him and carries on with his luggage, but Jason persists, “Look at Alec Baldwin, right? He did that impersonation of me. It was not too hot, not too good. But look, we’re back in office. You [the Democrats] lost. Kamala [Harris] lost. She’s somewhere getting intoxicated.”
He goes on to say, “Well, Alec, if you don’t want that pardon for murdering that woman in cold blood – you can call it first-degree, you can call it whatever you want, but it was not good. She’s looking down on me right now, smiling, happy. ‘Thank you for confronting the man who took me out, who killed me.'”
Despite initially ignoring him, Baldwin eventually stopped and said, “Look at me. I want you to look at me,” He then asked if the comedian realized that his children lived in the building and warned him to be careful.
“You got a camera on me here? You realize my kids live in this building? But I want you to know something. I want you to be real careful. If this camera wasn’t here, I’d snap your f—–g neck in half and break your f—–g neck right here. You know that, don’t you?” he threatened.
The father-of-eight then returned to his car, but the comedian continued his impersonation of Trump, saying, “Okay, Alec Baldwin. All right, Alec Baldwin. Alec Baldwin, ladies and gentlemen! Class act! Believe me.” An irritated Baldwin then approached the comedian again, telling him to “get out of here” and threatening to “shove that camera up” his “a–.”
Baldwin was involved in a tragic incident on the set of the Western movie Rust, where cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed by a live round from a prop gun that was in Baldwin’s hands during a rehearsal. Director Joel Souza was also injured in the shooting.
Baldwin was charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the fatal shooting but pleaded not guilty, insisting he didn’t pull the trigger and was unaware that the gun was loaded with real ammunition. His charges were dropped in December 2024.
Special prosecutor Kari Morrissey from the Santa Fe District Attorney’s Office announced on Monday, December 23, a step back in the legal proceedings against Alec Baldwin. Her press release noted the withdrawal of the appeal previously filed to pursue manslaughter charges against Baldwin for the death of Halyna Hutchins.
“This has always been about seeking justice for Halyna Hutchins. We regret that Mr. Baldwin will not be held accountable for the role he played in the death of Halyna Hutchins and as we withdraw the appeal, we do so with the hope that the outstanding lawsuits bring some measure of justice to the family of Halyna Hutchins,” Morrissey expressed.
In response, Baldwin’s attorneys Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro dashed off a statement to USA TODAY: “Today’s decision to dismiss the appeal is the final vindication of what Alec Baldwin and his attorneys have said from the beginning – this was an unspeakable tragedy but Alec Baldwin committed no crime. The rule of law remains intact in New Mexico.”
Despite the dismissal, Baldwin is still grappling with the aftermath, suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. He recently brought a lawsuit to court in Santa Fe, charging defamation, malicious prosecution, and civil rights violations last month.
